Marketers and analysts now have access to customized reports that offer insightful information that is especially important to business goals with the update to GA4. With this update, it has become simple to make use of GA4.
The Business Objectives Collection took the place of the Life Cycle collection, which was essentially a set of reports that assisted you in understanding each stage of the customer journey. Business Objectives collection is a customized collection of reports created especially for your business goals based on the data you provide about your company when you first set up Google Analytics.
The Business Objectives Collection will give you useful information to help you succeed, regardless of your goals, by improving traffic acquisition, growing your user base, or optimizing online sales. Read below to know how to add Business Objectives Collection in GA4:
In your Google Analytics setup, you can provide company information to have access to the Business Objectives Collection. The collection will be included in the GA4 reporting section.
Users are able to access a library of reports that have been hand-picked by Google through the Reports Library. To make GA4 unique to your analysts, you can add, remove and modify these new tabs.
However, you might only be able to view the Life cycle reports in GA4 instead of the Business Objectives Collection if:
You created your property before March 27, 2023: Unless you select business information during setup, the Life cycle collection will be the default collection if the property was formed prior to this date.
The business information was not specified during setup: The Life cycle collection will continue to be the default collection if the business information was not provided during the initial setup.
You used Setup Assistant to migrate from a Universal Analytics property: The Life cycle collection is the default collection if you transferred from a Universal Analytics property using Setup Assistant.
Note that when you modify your company information, Google Analytics does not automatically adjust the company goals collection for you, so keep that in mind if you don't see the results. But you still have access to it. The Business Objectives Collection is available in the Report Library, and you can add individual reports or the entire collection to your property.
Click Reports from the left menu.
Click Library from the bottom left menu.
Click the Edit collection to alter the reports in the Business Objectives Collection.
Under Collections, you will notice some Cards.
If you can see the Business Objectives Card there but can't find it in the report’s menu, select the three dots you can find on the right side of the Business Objectives name > Publish.
Additional Step: You will need to make a new Collection if you do not find the Business Objectives Card there. To do this, choose Business Objectives from the list by clicking on Create New Collection.
Select Save at the bottom, then use the Back arrow at the top to go back to the previous menu.
Now that the Business Objectives are visible as a card, you should be aware that they are not immediately published. Simply follow step 5 to get started on this.
If the above option is not visible to you then you most certainly don't have the Editor role, which allows you to modify the navigation if you can't view the Library. In this case, you must request that the account owner upgrade your access.
Below are the advantages of Business Objectives Collection:
